Betfred Types of Poker Games

Texas Hold'em - This is the most popular version of poker and the one most commonly seen being played on
television. Each player first receives two cards each, which are hidden to all other players. In the centre of the
table there are five 'community cards' dealt face-up. All players can use the community cards, along with the
two cards hidden from the other players. From the total seven cards available, each player must make the best
five-card poker hand. Texas Hold'em is the choice of game played to decide the World Poker Champion at the
World Series of Poker - a major television event.

Omaha - An exciting variation of Texas Hold'em, except each player receives four cards instead of two. There
are still five community cards in the centre of the table, but players must use exactly three of the community
cards with exactly two of their hidden cards.

Omaha Hi/Lo - This is a more complicated version of poker with rules similar to standard Omaha. The
exception is that the pot is divided between both the best hand and the worst hand (known as the 'low hand'). It
would be advisable for you to learn the games and the software playing Texas Hold'em before trying this one!
